Who Am I?

I haven’t always been a coach and consultant. I have nearly 20 years experience working in corporate environments.

One day, I knew I’d had enough of the hurry up and wait that comes from following other peoples’ agendas. I went back to school and got my MBA. The week after I handed in my last assignment, I launched a home cleaning franchise, starting a territory from scratch. I grew that business from nothing to six-figures in a little over a year.

Of course, my friends and colleagues still wanted my help and would not let me forget the value of my corporate experience. I started consulting on the side and that turned into coaching people who were like an earlier version of me: working on growing their businesses, getting past whatever barriers were in the way, and finding success in business.

And now I can help you ignite your business to be the success you have desired.

Some of my highlights

Working with a nurse and nutritional counsellor to write a book: I didn’t do the writing. My responsibility in our relationship was to build the plan for her to write the book, keep her accountable to the plan with weekly check-ins and cheerleading, and help her prioritize the bright shiny objects that appeared along the way, of which there were many. The plan included everything from creating a space to write to having the tools to write, making the time to write and finding a proof-reader. It took 8 weeks for her to write the book and send it off to her proof-reader.

I worked with a copywriter who had great success when she was in her corporate position in New York City. She left that job and started freelancing from her new home in Florida. She had great skills and no clients. She got a Booster Shot and we spent our time together working on defining her target market, figuring out where to find those people, and creating some language around attracting them. She had clarity and an action plan.

My style tends to be direct and sometimes systematic, although I adapt to the situation. I am a planner by nature, which means I work with you to gather facts, analyze the work, and then help you create a plan to get to your goals. I keep you accountable and emphasize positive outcomes, while keeping an eye on the deadline established. I provide you with candid feedback and offer solutions. I believe that we should have fun along the way, so expect some laughter.
During our work, we get clear on business and personal goals, we create a plan that can be easily implemented, and follow-up and adjust the plan as necessary. We establish metrics because what gets measured gets done. When someone works with me, he or she doesn’t just learn how to grow their business. I teach him or her how to create a system so that their business keeps growing. I also make sure we have some fun along the way.
